I've always hated speaking on the phone. When I was younger, I'd get all excited just because someone had called me (it was exceedingly rare) so I'd talk. Now I rarely pick up when someone calls. I prefer to listen to their voicemail first to get an idea of what the conversation will be about.

I do like texting. I don't use it excessively, but I think it's a great alternative to calling.

I actually feel annoyed when people call me or even when they send me SMS. Even if it's my friends, parents or girlfriend. It's like they demand immediate attention when all I want to do at that particular moment is being alone and asocial. On the other hand, I feel that about 24/7.
