I pace as well. Sometimes I still do it when I'm trying to think of something to do, or whenever I'm provoked.

I don't walk in circles but in a line, pacing, or I just walk from one place to another randomly.

I'm always told I can never sit still, but that is usually true.

I don't know about circles, but I'll pace quite a bit, and I'm prone to walk in ellipses and other shapes. I tend to do this when I'm lost in thought about some topic, often my obsessive interest of the moment. Oddly enough, I also tend to do this when I'm having a conversation on the phone.
I experience the two aforementioned behaviors very differently, so I'm not sure why they both tend to bring about this particular behavior, but for whatever reason, that's just how it goes for me.

I pace a lot back and forth from the living room to the kitchen. When I was a kid I use to ride my bike in tight circles infront of our garage for hours evryday. I would be in my own world when I was riding in circles. When I use to run around a circle on the high school's track it had the same effect on me. 8)

I walk in circles all the time. My parents say that I started walking in circles as soon as I learned how to walk at all. People in public used to ask me all the time why I walked in circles, so I try not to do it in public anymore.

I used to run around a rubbish heap out the back of our house for hours every day, up until I was about 16. I would just think mainly. I would usually carry some sort of stick and pretend I was off in some fantasy world. I eventually wore a pretty deep track. When I flew a plane over my house I could tell which one it was because of the very visible circle. :-\

Once I stopped homeschooling and started going to a mainstream school, I stopped doing that. Now when I need to think I just go for a walk in the bush or the streets, or sometimes on my bike. I think better when my legs are moving. Unfortunately when I'm thinking I walk quite slowly, so it doesn't really double as exercise.

When my fooball team St Kilda was playing Geelong in the Grand Final of September 2009 as I was watching it live on TV at my sister's house, everyone noticed I was walking around in circles accept me, because it was such a tense and close match to the end, I could barely bare to watch it and my heart was racing. There have been plenty of tense moments like that where I was either running short sprints or pacing around in circles where everyone was noticing it but me.

Yes! I love walking around the house. My mum says she gets dizzy watching me. I also walk around in the street back and forth after I finished eating with my family in a restaurant.

I pace in circles, always going the same direction and used to for hours each day. It's not as bad anymore.

I used to pace in lines but it is very inefficient. You have to turn around which means delaying your speed and that is stressful. It got to the point I'd just run into things to turn around and that is when I started pacing in circles.

Agreed. Also I prefer to have something to walk around, like a tree or a table.
