That doesn't really sound anything like Asperger's except social awkwardness and honesty.

There's a difference between AS and being a geek.

Oh really?

Social skills lacking
Honesty minus diplomacy
Ability to focus (Powers of concentration)
Hate Risk (structure and routine)
Obsessiveness (go without food for days to tackle a problem, under the ego heading)
Fascination with details (how things work) as opposed to the bigger picture
Isn't one of the questions on the Aspie tests RE clothing or appearance too?

In any case, me thinks you might be mistaken.... It is pretty similar.

Not all Aspies are geeks and not all geeks are Aspies. Some folks just happen to have a measure of each.

Of course not ALL engineers are Aspies or vice versus. (did not mean to imply that) BUT there are a much larger percentage of Aspies in my lab at Intel than there are in the Kmart down the street at my parents house. :)

Ironically also fits Aspergers to a large degree. I would say that many, many of us geeks at Intel have Aspergers....

This is a great description. It's definitely only a subgroup of people that work in the field though. Some people work in engineering, some people are engineers

This reminds me of when they deliver new industrial test equipment. :D Its kind of like Christmas, except your present weighs 2 tonnes and you unwrap a wooden crate. Then if lucky, you get to immediately take it apart.
