Language Problems?
Just thinking about it, it seems like there must be more to it than that.
Someone is diagnosed (or simply has) Aperger's as a young child. Later on at 18 or early 20's this person develops schizophrenia. Then the autism disappears from having schizophrenia?
I found this on WP
By definition the diagnosis [of Asperger's] is not given if the criteria are met for any other specific Pervasive Developmental Disorder or for Schizophrenia (although the diagnoses of Asperger's Disorder and Schizophrenia may coexist if the onset of the Asperger's Disorder clearly preceded the onset of Schizophrenia) (Criterion F).
I found this on the 8th post of this thread~

I looked up "word salad" and from the example I saw I don't think I do that. But I know that sentences can sometimes come out weird and also in the wrong sequence, sort of like a dyslexic sentence, maybe. I can also stutter and the word won't come out.
When I talk sometimes people have to ask me what I said because the sentence came out weird.
There's been times where I was trying to say something and it came out messed up and the wrong way and all over the place. I've done that in front of a professional before and got upset and said I hated talking. I have also become quite frustrated from feeling like I couldn't communicate something.
This isn't all the time when I talk but it can happen.
This same professional I mentioned above said at another time I definitely did not have schizophrenia (he happened to be talking about something and brought up schizophrenia as a way to explain something, and then told me that).
I'm just saying I seem to have some issues with language, possibly mild, and I don't have schizophrenia.
My son with AS struggles to speak at times. He knows what he wants to say and what words he wants to use but cannot speak them, he usually repeats over and over "What is that thing" and eventually he will say another word(s) to finish his thought or statement. He feels really frustrated afterwards as he know that's not really what he wanted to say, the words will be similar though.
If I understood you correctly, I think I do that too. I've eventually pointed or called it a thing. I've described what I was trying to say, for example, it was a tool, but had no word for it.
Also, I think writing posts out can often take me a lot longer then it should (an hour or two sometimes. Not on this thread though. More of a problem if it's more in depth, maybe). I have to figure out how to say things. I'm not perfectly sure, but I start from a sort of "knowing" without much words and have to figure out how to say things. Then I have to work around words at times.
