Well I have observed that many fictional television characters portrayed with AS enjoy patronising their peers, such as Sheldon Cooper and Lisa Simpson. I also enjoy patronising those who I consider to be imbecilic (who I am acquainted with, of course).

If you are unaware of what the definition of the word 'Patronising' is, I suggest reading the dictionary. Yes, that is the large, dusty, unopened book sitting idly on your pathetic excuse for a bookshelf!

(EXAMPLE OF PATRONISING, THAT WAS NOT AN AUTHENTIC INSULT, AS I AM SURE YOU HAVE A VERY SOPHISTICATED VOCABULARY)

The other day, I put on a guy's gigantic snowboarding boots which were a full two times the size of my feet and proceeded to wiggle and clomp around in them like a little kid. That was pretty no-strings fun. :D

Writing down my favorite number combinations
Observing people (psycoanalyzing)
Learning whatever I feel like learning
Comunicating with my boyfriend

When I'm alone I can start laughing or at least enjoy anything and everything (watching the dust sailing in the air, feeling the texture of things, what sound does those things make when I hit them? etc)
I'm very rearly bored or unhappy :D

What's fun for me?

Messing around on the internet
Reading a book I'm really into
Looking for interesting books at the library
Cuddling up with my ferret to take a nap
Visiting my horse just to groom him really well
Watching one of my favorite TV shows

simple fun for me:

*playing in the snow
*sloshing around in the rain (I'm anti-umbrella) and then coming home and having a hot bath and hot chocolate
*gardening
*watching birds
*being naked! skinny dipping or running around naked while camping
*camping (cooking things on a stick makes everything taste good)
*painting
*eating with my hands
*pretending to sleep on the subway when I'm actually listening in on conversations going on around me

The things I do every day that keep me going and I definitely define as fun are; flying my rc airplanes and playing video games :)

Just be careful with the rc airplanes because they attract a lot of attention at a park or school. People always will come up to you and want to talk about the plane. That unwanted contact makes me sort of uncomfortable but it is better because I get to talk about my interest with another person.

Another thing is while I was flying my airplane at the grade school while the kids were there and a teacher brought her class out in the field to watch me fly and expected me to do like a Q&A with the kids about airplanes. That was very awkward. Too many people interested in me at once.

Low-key entertainment for me:
Playing videogames
Watching movies
Taking online psychology quizzes
Spacing out

These things sound great but at the moment I just couldn't enjoy them. No that's not quite true, I enjoyed harvesting my pumpkins this afternoon in the autumn sunshine.

I suppose I am imagining you doing all these things in one day, lol. But I do envy you and wonder how I can get to your state of mind.

Collaging / making altered books
Listening to audio books or favorite movies while paper or clay sculpting
Video editing
Losing myself doing detail oriented work (sorting real world stuff / organizing data/files)
Putting a jar of coins into coin wrappers

I feel I am very fortunate, chickenbird. I am in a stable long term relationship with someone who fondly refers to me as 'off my rocker' and who allows me to be the way I am, and I have a few very dear friends who also love me in spite of my weirdness. (Interestingly enough, these are all folks who moved here to the big city from very small communities...I'm starting to think that in small rural communities people have grown up depending on one another and being a little more accepting of quirky behavior).

I don't get to do all of this fun stuff all the time though, often times these things are little rewards to myself for getting through a long, frustrating week or for successfully attending some dreaded social obligation. I'm big on the idea of making time for myself. If pumpkins in the sunshine make you feel good, then I wish you a long and plentiful harvest! :)

Digging and planting things in the garden.

Going to the beach and digging a big hole for no reason other than because you can.

i just LOVE test-driving different cars, and test-listening to music on different audio systems. i LOVE hearing/feeling the deep bass from pipe organs, especially the 32' ranks. 16 cycles per second must be experienced to be believed. 8 cycles per second is even better, rather like being in a church with a helecopter on the roof.
