I am reasonably good with both, but generally I am better with names.
I have a very specific problem though, if a person tells me their name, I can't hear it the first time. I mean it - I can't hear it, all I hear is an unintellible jumble of sounds. I have normal (even acute) hearing but I almost always miss the names the first time. When I was younger I thought I was very stupid or deaf because of that.
Now I recognise the issue and try to get the person's name written down (once I see it, I would never forget it) or ask other people about it. It seems like a common problem here, forgetting names, so people don't get suspicious or angry about asking them about otther people's names.

I'm pretty bad with both, but faces I have some chance of remembering, as long as I have some context to work with. Names just vanish as soon as I hear them. I try to remember them, but as soon as I think of something else, the name is just gone. Given time, I eventually learn both, but even then, it takes me a few seconds to bring up a name when I see a face. It's really annoying, because people expect you to use their names when you greet them, but by the time I recall the name, it's too late.

^ Yeah, that. Voice is how I most readily recognize people.

I'm bad with both, but mainly because I am very bad with faces. That is, if I don't remember someone's face, I don't remember who they are, hence I certainly don't remember their name!
It takes a certain memory trigger for me - if they can recount an experience when we knew each other, then I will remember them and sometimes their name comes back to me.
However, it usually takes at least 4 or 5 times of hearing their name before I can remember it, if I am seeing them regurlarly. If I don't see them regularly "Um, sorry, how do we know each other again?" Oops
It doesn't help with my job AT ALL, particularly people who come back after 6 months to a year and expect me to know who they are!

Faces.
I can tell you the day I saw it, what the weather was like, the time and where I saw it.
But can I tell you the name? No. I just don't hear it when I'm told; it doesn't "stick".

Faces; I'm terrible at remembering names.

This of course causes me a lot of grief both in my line of work, and with family acquaintances.

I do remember now, when I was younger, I relied on people's voices or the way they walked to recognise them. Very naively, I thought that this was because I was short-sighted. But then I have always worn my glasses and it was only a mild myopia anyway. For me, it got better with time though. But I'd always remember the name (provided I have seen it written down once) while I might - rarely - still get the face wrong.
