Oh to have magic powers! To speak to a machine and have it become quiet. That would be fantastic.

Apart from everything, too many to list but my particular hatred is when someone leaves their car engine running in first or neutral gear and it makes that low frequency throbbing sound. It makes me want to stick knitting needles in my ears to go deaf. I've also taken the batteries out of the ticking clocks and would like the annoying woman upstairs to take her high-heeled shoes off when she comes in and stop clomping around like a cloven-hoofed beast or here's an idea - buy a rug! OMG now I'm on a roll. The 'sweet' child next door who suddenly lets out blood-curdling screams for a laugh, people who slam their car doors about ten times at 3am when the tiny car only has two doors and a boot, (are they trying to pretend they've come home late in a limo?, cause you haven't). Deep breath...and...stop. (I can't tell you how many more there are).

Metal spoons touching each other or falling on a hard floor. It makes my back arch and my teeth tingle. I can't stand it and I couldn't eat at school because it would happen so much!

I don't like human-produced noises either. Coughing, sneezing, yawning, clearing the throat, and blowing the nose loudly.

How come when I blow my nose (I have to a lot because of my bad sinuses), I never make that loud noise what some people make?

I may be able to tolerate people coughing or sneezing at a genuine level, but when people intentionally make their sneeze come out really loudly, it makes me jump out of my skin, then everyone laughs at me (not in a nasty way, but I still get embarrassed).
One of the worst things is people yawning really loud. Ohh, that drives me insane! It's a noise what doesn't need to be made at all. It's also a noise what I can't ignore. I yawn a lot, but I never make that stupid noise when I do.

Worst thing of all is toddlers. I don't mind when they are quiet, but when they have their stupid temper tantrums, it is like torture to me. It's worse in public, because I get sensory overload with it but I've just got to sit still and grin and bare it, otherwise I might end up humiliating myself. When I was 14 and a toddler screamed near me in public, I used to stamp my feet, and grab hold of my hair and try to pull it out, and swear loudly. That wasn't good, really. Luckily the kid was usually screaming so loud that nobody really heard the swearing, but they saw my angry reactions, which admittedly was embarrassing, especially for the person who was with me (my mum, for example). I've learnt to be more tolerable now, but I still like to avoid small children, if I can help it. That is why I'm looking for a job where I'm working behind the scenes, like in the kitchen of a restaurant, or the warehouse of a shop. Then when I hear that awful sound of someone's kid screaming coming from the restaurant or shop, I can grin to myself. I actually like hearing it when they're not in the same room as me.

That really annoys me too. I just don't understand why they need to make that sound, and why it has to be so loud.

I also don't understand why people can't stop their children from yelling in public. Just tell them to quiet down a little bit. I understand that they want to let their children enjoy being children, really I do. But that doesn't mean that you have to let them yell as loud as they please.

Babies crying
Other people's eating noise, and sometimes my own!
Lots of people talking in one room, (that creates white noise for me)
One person in your face, talking at you
Screaming
Tv too loud
Squeeling noises, like car/bike breaks
Glass 'clinking' or rubbing against glass. (and 'washing up dishes' noise'!)
Forks and knives on plates, (but more specifically when, whoever, tend to 'arrange' or gather their food carefully, scraping the plate again and again and again, before finally putting the bl**dy fork in their mouth.....can't bear it.
China Tea crockery (when someone puts down their cup on the saucer.......urgh)
Banging noises
Deep low humming noises
Fireworks
High heels on any surface that doesn't have carpet or grass on it!
Anything where there's a 'sense' of many people and urgency

............I think I should stop now.

That really made me laugh; seems like we might live in the same area; (well, same island at least)! Although, I couldn't comment on whether the person living above me is a "cloven-hoofed beast" ; but my other neighbours do seem to have the same delusions of grandeur as yours.
Funny how it's only late at night/VERY early morning these delusions come to light....it's almost like a news bulletin of their social life, "Here I am, I'm now going out to have a good time", then later "I have NOW arrived home with a large selection of my closest and dearest friends. I've had a marvellous time, don't you know"......SLAM, slam, slam , dunk!

Maybe I'm just jealous.........actually no I'm not!

I hate to go out to eat and someone's baby starts a high pitch screaming. Children crying and screaming always upset me.

Sudden loud noises. Bus or car breaks high pitch scretching when they're trying to come to a stop. Anything played way too loud that I have to cover my ears.

People who put giant speakers in their cars. I do not need to hear your music. Really, I do not. In fact, I hate your music. Are you so deaf that you need to be 3 inches away from a giant speaker to be able to hear it?

open mouth chewing
coughing
clearing throats
whiny kids

When I'm in a bad mood, pretty much any sudden loud noise can set me off.

hair dryers. going to a hair salon when i was younger was always a horrible experience for both me and my mother. i've learned to deal with it now, but i definitely get my hair cut as least often as possible.

It's the super-soft sounds that get me. People chewing gum with their mouths open, and a TV that has not been properly shut off.

crying babies and screaming anything.(why I will never have kids) Expecailly my bird. I have a parrot against my will...although I do love her, I would never choose to own a parrot but I am living with my mom to help her out and that d@mn bird screaches about 100db every morning for some reason and will not shut up untill noonish.
It like like somone blasting fire into my eardrums sizzling every last nerve I have.

but back to the list....Anything high pitched and loud enough for me to hear it. By the grace of God, I have a high frequency hearing loss, so most high pitched sounds I dont hear, but the ones I do make mincemeat out of my self control.

every once in a while, I will lose it and throw the nearest object at the the bird's cage. I try to control myself better than that...but 4 hours of constant screaching is enough to send a tibetian monk into a meltdown.
