Yes, get frazzled when the wrong foods are consumed. Different sensation to usual tactile sensitivities. Further to the other posters suggestion, if applicable, you may also have experienced one of the following -

"While allergies can cause a wide range of symptoms, certain signs indicate that it's especially likely that your allergen is food and not another environmental factor. Here are six symptoms that may lead you and your physician to suspect a food allergy.

1. Hives are not always caused by food allergies --- they are sometimes caused by environmental or medication allergies, and sometimes by a combination of factors. Nonetheless, they are a common symptom of food allergies. Hives resemble a red, raised rash, are generally extremely itchy, and may appear in patches of just a few hives or over a wide area of the body.

2. Redness or Swelling
Allergies often cause redness and swelling, especially around the lips and face. Shellfish and eggs are among the common allergens that sometimes present with this symptom.

3. Allergic Rhinitus ("The allergic salute" - Nose running/rubbing)
While hay fever, or allergic Rhinitus, is often caused by environmental allergens like mold or pollen, Rhinitus is also a common symptom of dairy allergies. You should be more inclined to consider a food allergy as a possible cause of chronic congestion if symptoms never improve with a change in seasons or locations.

4. Eczema or atopic dermatitis
Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is an exceedingly itchy, painful, and scaly rash that usually appears near the face, elbows, and knees. It may be aggravated by sweat, clothing, or dryness, and it can be difficult to treat. Eczema is a common symptom of milk, egg, fish, and wheat allergies.

5. Gastrointestinal Distress
Diarrhea, nausea, and constipation are sometimes symptoms of a food allergy, especially to dairy products. However, they are perhaps more often signs of food intolerances; lactose intolerance and gluten intolerance are two fairly common intolerances that manifest with these symptoms.

6. Anaphylaxis
Anaphylaxis is the most serious --- and, fortunately, the most uncommon and unmistakable --- allergy symptom. Anaphylaxis, or anaphylactic shock, is a whole-body allergic reaction that causes difficulty breathing due to swelling in the airways and a rapid drop in blood pressure due to dilated blood vessels. Anaphylaxis usually develops quickly upon exposure to the allergen that triggers it, so the cause is often easily identifiable."

It is largely due to the focus on the latter reaction as indicative of food allergy, that the underlying cause of other allergic reactions are not addressed and the individuals quality of life is hindered unnecessarily.
Will at some point contain the Dietary enthusiasm!

I get itchy quite often, and when I do, it is real fricken bad, and doesn't just go away. To make things worse, I am workin on getting rid of a plantars wart, and that thing is always itchy to the point that scratching it feels better than the thing I used to consider the best experience in my life.

Thing I said about scratching a plantars wart: It creates such a strong feeling of relief that I actually like having the wart just to experience that feeling when I scratch it because it is the best feeling I have ever felt.... Too bad the itching is so bad it is generally unbarable... which is why I am treating it before it gets worse. Why did I have to love being barefoot outside?

I have an itchy hand right now. My arms get really itchy as well as my back, legs and any part of my body my hair touches (especially the neck).
I have eczema, undiagnosed Keratosis Polaris (bumpy skin), and dry skin.
I have stopped myself from scratching because I usually scratch til I bleed or the bumps are more visable.
My poor right hand is usually the only area that gets scratched and it's mostly scabby.

Interesting post about food allergies Jenk. I have hay fever too and I'm now thinking it's because of dairy. I rarely have it anymore and I don't have a lot of dairy. I'm going to watch what I eat from now on.

Sometimes I'm so itchy I sit on the couch and just try to bare it. I don't move at all. Or I lay on my bed, but the material of my quilt makes it worse. I hate days like those.

Sounds familiar...

I also get the random itching especially when trying to sleep, although sometimes itching a certain spot on my forearm feels really good and I end up scratching til it's red raw. I think that is a concentration/nervous tic thing though.

I get it occasionally, I hate it when my whole body itches at the same time, it feels awful and it somewhat makes me feel hot.

I used to itch from morning till night - it drove me mad.

I then realised by cutting certain foods from my diet the itching eventually became easier until eventually I didn't itch any more.

I am not sure if overgrowth of candida albicans caused me to itch or if it was food allergy.

I get those. I had them as a child. I can remember yelling "Aaaaaah!! ! Grandma! I have an itchy!! ! Scratch it, SCRATCH IT!! !" late at night. I would crawl all over her until she did it. Generally the scratching put me to sleep. I would wake up in my room and wonder how I got there. lol
