What's "the anthropomorphic interpretation of quantum mechanics"?

The universe is the way it appears because we are here to observe it. Or something like that. It is an interpretation of quantum mechanics having to do with the collapse of the wave function from probabilities into a single measurable observation.

I would have given you the confused look(not the "are you an alien look"). I just don't get it. What's the link between quantum mechanics and easter...?

Never ask an aspie.

The link is because they said that the equinox determines the date of Easter. So Easter follows the equinox around the calendar. When the person said the equinox doesn't follow Easter around, I thought that the anthropic interpretation of quantum mechanics says the universe is the way it is because our observations cause it to be that way (very sloppy explanation, but close enough). So we could observe Easter to be a certain date and then Equinox would become what was needed to align with the observation. So the equinox COULD follow Easter around on the calendar.

Aren't you glad you asked. 8O

I love you man.

I say the same things to people. I've moved on from physics though and just talk about science fiction technologies and have to remind myself 'oh right, time travel doesn't exist...yet.'

God. I am such a freak.

You just hang with the wrong people. I must admit, though, that jumping from the Equinox to quantum mechanics would probably puzzle everybody. Of course, the people that I know would start to argue over how long it would take for quantum mechanical effects to affect the Equinox.

At that point, the people that I know would have pointed out some flaws in your argument. They would not have thought you were strange.

You were indeed the victim of Wave-Particle Duality. You appeared to be a white rabbit and an alien, for a moment, which confused the NT.

That would have been interesting an interesting conversation because clearly I was taking the anthropic interpretation WAY too far. Anyone able to see the flaws would have also seen the humor. I need to find the mother ship.

Nope. Good scientists and good computer people generally have a lot of Aspie traits. My suspicion is that a lot of them would be Aspies if things were just slightly different.

I can see at least four reasons why someone might have pointed out the flaws in your argument.

1) Complete lack of sense of humor, extremely literal thinking
2) They know it was intended as humor and they still cannot stand to leave an uncorrected error
3) They know it was humor, but want to show how smart they are
or
4) They know it was humor, but it is fun to discuss such things anyway
