This is why sculpture was one of my favorite classes. Not only I get to be creative, but I also get the chance to squish my hands into some cool wet clay. It's such a wonderful feeling. Even when I was little I enjoyed the feeling of Play-Doh in my hands. Most of the time I wouldn't even mold it into anything at all, I'd just squish it around.

Yes play-doh fells amazing too!! Also the smell is quite awesome :)

I do it all the time. Sand is fun too. My favorite is smooth pebbles and glass beads; you can sometimes find them in craft shops.

This is an area in which I really pity "normal" people. It saddens me that they cannot experience some of the simple pleasures in life.

 yes!

when i shop i have to feel materials on my way past, even if something is extremely ugly and i have no intention of buying it. I will cross the aisles if something form a distance looks like it will feel good, i don't even think about it...

mum tells me when i was little i wore the satin off the hands and feet of my stuffed toy (and she won't believe i think i'm AS  )

44 gallon drums full of oats are great for running hands through too

Eugh. I can't think of anything worse. I don't like the type of sensation.
I'm more the wet and cold or even damp material type.

I love submerging my hands in just about any large bunch of small, cool, smooth objects.

I think in the movie Amélie, there was even a scene where she did this with beans.

I do this with so many different things - I love texture and smooth objects.

Sand in particular I love and whenever I'm forced to go to the beach I tend to bury myself in it. I've buried my hands in coins, washers, plastic packing beads, bath oil bubbles, ect. And I love running my hands over textured object - I had a set of smooth magnets I used to carry around and fiddle with. Eventually they got rather worn. I've done the same and carried around silly putty as well.

I've never been able to stand anything on my hands, especially between my fingers but as a child (and now if I could) I loved to dig my feet into the soft sand on the beach. I remember as a kid wanting to take my shoes and socks off and walk in the sand where the men had been doing roadworks. My mum wouldn't let me as she explained dogs would have peed on it (but she wasn't always with me!)

I also like to have on large, soft baggy socks and move my feet around in them, I find it very comforting. I've just realised I still do it when I'm wearing my boots. I also like to rub/click my big toe and second toe together, I'm always doing it, more when stressed or upset and when I try new shoes on I have to make sure I've got room to do it.

Actually, I might get a small sand pit for the balcony - that would be lovely - I don't have kids, it'd be for me and my feet. As long as I can keep my long-haired cat and the tortoise out of it...great! No, just had a rethink the cat will think she's got a new litter tray. Oh well!

Yes, I do this and things similar to it. I think it's kind of like stimming.

Ye, although when I was in school I kept doing it until third grade to random guys and girls... and they saw me and ye... picked on me.

[quote="chris09"]The other day I was at a hardware store and I noticed in one isle they had big tubs full of washers nuts and bolts. I couldn't resist submerging my hands in the big tub of washers. It felt really cool. I think I do it every time I'm at the hardware store.

Anyone else find them selves doing that or something similar.[/quote

I used to be a gardener. I did the same thing with humus and manure. It felt great getting into the stuff up to my elbows.

Yes, exactly. I'm like squirming in my seat while reading people describe the sand. I can feel the itchy dryness of it on my skin by just thinking about it. Wet sand might be different but that too dries.

I don't know about dry rice. That just reminds me of how bad I am at boiling rice.
