I have had trouble with panic/anxiety and would have to take xanax to sleep sometimes, and sometimes I still do due to all the stress in our lives. I have tried the melatonin and it does work and help but my fav is Sleep M.D it is all natural as well and contains melatonin but it also has valerian root and other helpful ingredients that make it stronger than melatonin alone so if the melatonin seems to be missing something I recommend trying sleep m.d, walmart sells it for @12$ for a box of 30. sweet dreams all and much peace and joy to your lives <3 Crystal

Oh well, I have some on order so it will be interesting to see what happens here.
I wish there was some easy way of doing a double-blind test with this stuff. :?

I plan on going back on it, when I get my next paycheque.

Melatonin has been very helpful for me. I only need to take 1/2 of a pill, so using it is really cheap for me.

Before melatonin, Doxylamine succinate (the active ingredient in some forms of Nyquil and Unisom) was my best bet, but I feel more rested with melatonin.

Try valerian. it puts me to sleep in 30 mins although i have been using it to fix jet lag. I have been taking remeron and clondine for 17 years and i still fall asleep with them.

valerian smells real bad though even the capsules smell like crap

For the most part I don't take anything. I need between 8 and 8 1/2 hours of sleep. I take melatonin if I have been staying up too late and need to go to bed early or if I am stressed enough that I don't think I will be able to sleep. I take either 3 mg or 1/5mg but if I take it regularly it gives me a headache.

Chamomile helps me fall asleep too but not to stay asleep.

I can attest to this. I tried it years ago and ended up throwing most of it away because the smell made me sick.
