I have a hard time saying I love you but yet I was able to say it to my first ex but I realized I didn't love him and never did. Maybe that's why I have a hard time saying it?

My husband has asked me why I love him and I just say he is nice and accepts me for who I am and doesn't try and change me. Is that a good enough answer for an NT?

I get the impression from films and drama that men never get any reassurance about being loved - whenever a guy asks for reassurance in a film or a play, the woman just blows him off with a sarcastic comment like "no, I can't stand you," which is all he's going to get. But maybe that's just a rule for alpha-people.

I've never been in a relationship (female here) but I cannot tell people I love them. I find saying it to just be trite and meaningless. I can't even say it to my mom when she says it to me. I can't have the words in my mouth.

I don't do sappy greeting cards either. But none of this means I don't actually love these people.
