No I speak like Daniel Jackson. Sometimes it's Rodney McKay.
I have no accent of my own. I just mimic all my favourite TV show characters.

My voice flat as a pancake. When I try... when I used to try to sound "better" I felt like an idiot imposter clown.

Terry Gross on NPR played an old show recently by a famous voice coach Sam Chwat, who passed on recently... it was very interesting. I guess it seems to me that probably we aspies dont open our mouths very wide, or use facial expressions, when we are talking. For example, when you listen to someone on the radio who is smiling, you can tell. It was an interesting conversation I thought, and he has many insights and ways that people can change the way they sound to others... you can listen to it here > http://www.npr.org/2011/03/08/134359354 ... -and-to-us

Monotone. I make weird noises sometimes, but not often.

I have noted that I can slip into about 15 different accents, for no apparent reason. There are some sentences and words that I can not say without an Irish accent. If I watch something for too long or am around people with a different accent for too long I will begin to sound like them. Once I sound like them it is hard to get rid of the accent and then it just gets logged and used later without me noticing. It's usually who I am talking to that tells me that i have begun to speak in another accent.

I'm too quiet or too loud pretty often too. I never notice.

My voice is apparently too flat, people stop listening to me pretty quick. When I was a kid, I somehow infered from the reactions I got that most people had a very short attention span, and that I had to speak quicker, so I spoke extremely fast in order to be done with my sentence before the person stopped listening. When I think about it, I'm really sad for 7 year old me ...
I kept the habit, I still speak too fast, but that's because people still appear to have very short attention spans...

My friends tell me they hate my voice when I'm reading something because I sound like 'robot'.

Yeah, I think it probably is...

I've intentionally tried to "put a smile in my voice" while recording the message for my voice mailbox at work. When I play it back, I can't hear any inflection... but I could when I was speaking the message.

I've also had many people compliment me for keeping my composure during a heated discussion, when in reality, I was completely ticked off and they couldn't tell.

I've heard that I seem to always be in control. It's strange, because I am generally on the brink of falling apart from anxiety.

Same things happen to me. As I get more and more upset I get more and more restrained. My voice tends to not get louder but quieter and maybe they see that as calmer. The fact is, it's the calm before the storm. Only one of my friends, gets it when I'm upset.

I've always been very, very monotone. I think recently I've started speaking with more inflection. I know when to speak with inflection when reading, but I don't do the same when I'm speaking normally. Some people say I talk to quietly, but I've never had a problem with volume/speaking loudly.

Same with me. I'm constantly being told to slow my speaking down. I just can't because I can only be so far behind my thoughts with my words before I lose that connection completely and stop being able to use words altogether.

I speak in a monotone voice, especially when reading something. People say I need to put more emotion into what I am reading. The only time my voice may not be monotone is when I am really excited. I also speak really fast and quiet.

I'm probably more monotone when explaining a fact. Sometimes I even say a joke or something very personal in monotone. It's like some things are so hard to express in my usual accent which I very rarely speak in.

Yeah, most of my jokes are monotone. Since they typically involve me saying the exact opposite of what I mean, this sometimes has disastrous results.

I don't talk in a monotone. I have been told that i talk weirdly though.

I get constantly asked what country i am from. I have also been told i sound a lot like doctor fraiser crane.

I think I talk in a fairly normal voice. The first time I asked a psychiatrist if I might have AS, he used the fact that I don't have a monotone voice as "proof" that I don't have AS. (I have since been diagnosed as on the spectrum.)
