Me too. Even to this day (30 years old). My older sister tried endlessly to teach me the rabbit going through the hole (or whatever) method but I never saw the point since the loops method worked.

As a child I could only remember the first step to tying my shoes, so I did that over and over again. Try it sometime, it looks pretty cool when it's tied.

I have that same problem with my Sketchers shoes. I can tell when the tie is getting loose or when it has came untied. I find it annoyed too when I have to tie them.

When I was six it took me about six weeks to learn how to tie my shoes. I remember how hard it was to learn it and mom also did the bunny thing and say go around the loop. It used to take me a while too to tie my shoes after I had learned how. One time they came undone during PE, I sat out to tie my shoes but it took me the entire class to get it done and I didn't even ask for help because I was a "bid girl and was too big to have someone do it for me" so I tried and tried to do it myself and had trouble. Then after PE I got punished for it because I "played" during PE and I said I didn't until my teacher said I played with my shoes and I said I was trying to tie them but she said I played with them. For a long long time I couldn't understand and now I think I do. She probably thought I was goofing off and didn't know I was having trouble.

I learned this method, but I cannot do it well. They come untied frequently, or at least loose enough to be uncomfortable.

I have tried double knotting the loops, but then they loosen up just enough and it takes more work to untie and retie them.

Now I do Velcro and only Velcro.

Verdandi: My shoes always come untied too.

I think it depends on the kind of laces. Round ones always come untied on me much more easily than the flat ones.

The kind of shoelaces a shoe has, is one of the only factors that goes into my decision to buy it.

when I was a kid I tied my shoes so tight that it left the pattern of my socks embedded into my skin, I don't tie them that tight anymore, but I do tie them pretty snugly... I can't stand it when my feet slip in my shoes.

I always hated the feeling on my feet after removing the tight socks/shoes so although I hated loose floppy shoes, I could never tighten them much either. And then if they weren't exactly the same 'tightness', I'd freak out and have to redo one, then the other, then the first again, and so on, until they felt 'even'.

I pretty much loathe shoes right now and only wear lace-up shoes to exercise in.

Ha, same with me. I can't stand to wear loose shoes. (Though I couldn't tie laces very well till the age of 13!) My school shoes are apparently the right size for me, but I want to get shoes a lot smaller because I like them as tight as possible so they don't slip at the heel and annoy me.

I get claustrophobic if they're tied too tight. If I can't easily get out of my shoes without touching them I can completely lose it over that. I'm pretty sure that's a sensory thing.

Just stopped in here to say that the pattern of your socks or the watch you're wearing is supposed to leave an imprint, that's normal. Socks are stretchy, they wrap around your foot, socks do that.

Its that double looped tie. My husband ties my kids shoes and they never stay. It doesnt matter what kind of laces the shoe has, eventually it will come untied even while double knotted. I think it is interesting here how many people can not tie the *bunny hole* way. Ill have to tell my husband, he will feel better!

I hate shoes. I never wear them unless I have no choice. I always wear slippers (flip flops).

It took me along time to learn to tie my shoes. I eventually figured out how to do it by analyzing the knot.
