When I was in kindergarten or 1st grade I used to like jumping off of low objects (like 2 feet high or less) and landing with my knees locked. I liked the 'bump' sensation that traveled up my body when I hit the ground.

(It didn't hurt my knees or anything, but apparently some aid at the school found it really odd, and wanted to hold me back a grade for 'developmental reasons' or something like that. But my mother would have none of it.)

There was some additional testing done, which turned out weird, and that's when then they tried to bring 'developmental issues' up, actually.

I did shorten the the story a bit drastically, there. :)

A tie between tapping my foot and drumming with my hands on a convenient surface (including my lap, if need be)

Whoops, I just thought of a third one: head-banging (to shadow the beat of a good rock song).

Foot vibration and definitely finger-tapping. When sitting still or randomly during conversations, I drum my fingers as if playing the piano or typing, while unconsciously (although I guess I'm conscious of it now) counting things in the environment (e.g. number of pillars, number of syllables in a word someone just said) and drumming my fingers in a pattern to that number. I've gotten better at hiding my hands and feet though so that others don't notice very quickly.

I lightly bite the inside of my mouth, like behind where my cheeks and lips are, and constantly messing with my left thumb...I'm not sure exactly how to explain it.

Playing with my hair, primarily twirling it with my left-hand fingers. I let my hair grow out after my diagnosis specifically for this reason. However, between the higher maintenance and my concern over the public appearance of a grown man twirling his hair, I went back to keeping my hair short. In substitution, I have found myself playing a rhythmic pattern with my left index, middle, and ring fingers on the top of my left thumb from time to time.

I've also paced, but I haven't done that in a while.

I have 2 noticeable stims. I often pinch my chest or make beats using my hands on a table. Others I do when I am alone, but these are the most noticeable ones when I am around people.

I "massage" the tops of my ears, rub cotton-like my jeans, finger tapping, bit the inside of my cheek....I always wondered why I rubbed my ears. I try to hide it and sometimes it is under control, but on occasion I catch myself doing it when I'm out and about.

Haha, I'm glad I'm not the only spectrumite that bounces when she gets excited!! ! I do that too!! Recently I've discovered that shaking my head feels good. I also rock, but try to keep that to a minimum around others. I also wring my hands either when I'm happy or upset.

Rocking, in the shower, at the computer, when sitting down, or in bed going to sleep. I also do this weird movement that involves interlocking my fingers and twirling them.

Bouncing me legs and tapping my knuckles against my face. Sometimes I walk in circles, following the patterns on the floor.

Biting my fingers (I don't bite my nails, just the skin), walk around a table (or simply walking if i don't find the table - and this annoy people around me) or moving one leg when i'm sitting. Somethimes i 'play' with random objects. i also rip a bit of skin out from my lips (lips heal very fast).

I rub the side of my nose to the point where I have to buy medical cream for it because it becomes raw and burns from rubbing it so much. I do it subconsciously and have made an effort to stop and have made some progress.
