yep, i'm very strong in languages. i can communicate in 5 languages, high fluency in 2

Which ones?

native english, very strong spanish.. formerly very strong french (which comes back if i'm there a few days). decent german, decent portuguese. by decent i'm not using the american definition of "knowing a foreign language" which means i know 3 words.. for me decent means i can hold conversations, communicate, get things done on a daily basis in the language.. with maybe 30% comprehension of what they say.

I'm good at English (but not Old English, like Shakespeare). However, I am not very good at languages at all. I can spell words in other languages fine, but I can't pronounce them very well. I also just say the word in the way it would be said in English.

I can speak three languages fluently (or at least I could -- I'm pretty rusty right now) including English (the others are Italian and Portuguese), which is not my first language. I can understand two other languages (Spanish and French) but I don't speak them well. But I learned the languages when I was little, when language acquisition is a lot easier, so I don't know how well I would do learning a language now.

That's not Old English, that's Early Modern English. >_>

This is Old English:

Yes, I do well with languages as well.

I know English and Japanese best, but I've studied Mandarin Chinese, French, and Korean too.

I am good with languages. My English is entirely self-taught and the other two foreign languages I know, French and Russian, are also practically self-taught. I understand a little Italian and Spanish too, because of the French and some Latin I learned in Uni.

I always pick on reading and writing first and speaking comes much later. Much, much later. I almost failed my last French exam because of my unability to speak. Listening comprehension of any language as also an issue but is actually much better than speaking.

I a way, Shakespeare invented modern English. His plays doubled the working English vocabulary in his lifetime.
