I don't think I am immune. I used to think that ads on the radio didn't affect me, since I would not be buying golf clubs or mattresses or anything else the sponsors were selling anyway. Then, I realized that every ad ran "you are not happy, but you could be if you bought X." The first part was steadily eroding my happiness.
Just once, when I had been meditating a lot and had not seen TV for years, I went to visit my mother, who kept hers on even when she was busy in the kitchen. So, I watched some, and was laughing my head off for about twenty minutes, at how blatant the manipulation was. Then, the clarity faded, and the propaganda has presumably been working ever since. I don't watch much TV, but we can pick up bias from anywhere. Just the selection of news is all that is needed to start or stop a war.

The original poster posted seven years ago.

He was rather logic-impaired in making his original post.He didn't understand that subliminal message are supposed to be just that: subliminal. He said "I couldn't pick up any subliminal messages"- you're not supposed to be aware if it if you get subliminal messages because they are supposed to hit your unconscious.

But having said all of that , yes maybe, autistics don't pick up on body language as well as do NTs ( and with NTs body language is large picked up subliminally).

But if you're talking about subliminal projectors at moving theaters shooting the words "buy coke" on the screen for a 100th of second every minute- I don't know for sure that that sorta things works on anyone. But if it does autistics who can read would be just as susceptible as NTs who can read. Though dyslexics might be immune.

Ever since I heard about the use of subliminal messages, I have been very careful not to take anything literally, when it comes to advertisement. Daily communication, however, is quite another matter.
