I have distant relatives on the spectrum, but I've never met them. They come from my mum's dad's cousins, so they are very distant relatives. It tears me up inside to think how the faulty gene went straight to me and nobody else in my family. My brother is NT, my 12 cousins are all NTs, my aunts and uncles are NTs, both my parents are NTs, and my grandparents are NTs. Only I thought that one of my cousins actually did have AS, but I've now found out that he definitely hasn't because he's 19 and is going clubbing like a normal 19-tear-old. I thought one of my aunties had it too, but I was wrong because my mum said she used to go to pubs and meet boys and do all the things completely typically neurotypical when she was young. So there you have it. Hate to say it but I am the only Aspie in my family, wish I wasn't, but hey, I am.
