I'm extremely sensitive to smell. I loathe cigarette smoke, and I think of the perfume area in department stores as the "gas department", to be hurried through as quickly as possible. I love essential oils and make my own perfumes from them.

Smell sensitivity is bad for me, too. Strong perfumes can make me gag, smoke is bad, especially burnt toast for some reason..that will give me a headache and hurt my eyes. I can't stand fresh paint, that makes me feel sick and dizzy and hurts my eyes and head. I will often smell strange or bad odours around the house that no one else can smell, they all think I am imagining things, but the odour can be overwhelming to me.

I am the same. I have to leave when my husband showers with very fragrant body washes like High Endurance or AXE. They make my eyes and throat burn. I cannot stand the smell of burnt popcorn, or smoke of any kind. It makes me nausated and dizzy. I have to leave the neighborhood when my neighbors burn leafs. Pine sole and chlorox fumes choke me. I own a gas mask which I ordered from ebay to use when I have to use strong cleaning products like Oven Cleaner. True Story!

Three smells make me physically ill:
Rubber. Cigarettes. Formaldehyde.

The rest, I can tolerate.

My mother (NT) has a very low tolerance for smells. She can't even live in a house older than about ten years, because older houses have moldy basements.

love the cats Bettyboo.
Burnt popcorn is horrible but I do not like the smell of microwave popcorn period. Most soaps are ok but purfumes are generally too strong for me. I smoke so cig. smoke is ok it does not bother me to much.
I love the smell of fresh cut grass and the smell after the rain.
