For a long time it's been "Rainbow in the Dark" by Dio. My favorite line: "When I see lightning, you know it always gets me down, 'cause it's free, and I see that it's me, who's lost and never found."

Fatal-Noogie mentioned Simon and Garfunkel which reminded me of "The Sound of Silence" which fits because I isolate myself a lot.
