There are a lot of people who underestimate me on what I can do. My mum overestimates me on the things that I can't do, such as growing up to meet her standards of maturity. She underestimates me on my ability to keep my job if I'm going through a rough patch. She wants me to appear as NT as possible. I'd rather wear my aspie badge on my sleeve.

People seem to think my IQ is less than what it is (which is around average, below in some things). People have often been surprised when I have showed that I can play the piano or can spell words without needing correction.
I don't take offense though. I'm glad I don't come across as intelligent anyway, because how I perform socially is more important to me than my intellectual skills.

I haven't been formerly diagnosed but the few people who are aware that I am different never underestimate me , in fact it's the reverse for me, they overestimate me - they think I am more capable than I am , they think I'm mega intelligent and believe I can do things that I cant.
