I was also recently diagnosed with classic autism. I do not make eye contact at all and this is for both people that I like and people that I don't like. It also doesn't matter what my emotions are; I still do not make eye contact.

Generally, the only time I feel ok looking in someone's eyes, is if I like them a lot and feel secure with them.
Outside of that, I find it difficult and don't tend to try. And if I feel angry, or they might feel angry at me, that is when it is actually hardest for me to make eye contact.
It is rare for me to sustain it too, I don't tend to do the aspie stare really.
