my mum had to make sure she was always on time because I'd assume I was meant to go to after school care if she was late

I still get anxious when someone is late to pick me up or the bus is late or i miss the bus, etc. I also do not like to be dropped off early. I feel awkward and don't know what to do with myself.

I don't mind classes running late. That has never bothered me. I can handle being late for class.

I used to get very nervous if my ride or pickup was late, especially if it was a pickup from somewhere else. I would do my best, even getting very upset, etc if they wouldn't just wait for me. I was always afraid they would never come and leave me stranded.

Nowadays I'm within some walking distance of my place no matter where I am in town (3-4 miles), can call a cab if I have money and once I got a cell phone I no longer had to beg people to use their cell phones, hunt down the elusive public pay phone (there were 10+ of them in town when I moved here in 1999, now I know of 2 in store front entrances and the library on campus).
