Yes, I do that often. Especially when I feel uncomfortable or anxious.

I cross my arms non-stop. Either that, or I stuff my hands deep inside my pockets. I don't care if it looks anti-social, I feel very awkward just letting my arms dangle about.

I used to, until I learned that it's a defensive gesture generally...
Though there is the arms crossed that is more like you're holding your self which expresses a need for security or warmth

...

This is off topic but does anyone else have a problem where, they must wear long sleaved shirts or else it feels less comfortable to place their arms in certain positions ie on the arms of a chair?
I feel much more comfortable with long sleeves and pants and it makes me look eccentric when it's summer time because I live in the south.
There must be some abnormal level of dissociation involved with ASD's...

Yes! I need that barrier between me and others.

At work, I have a plant hanging down in front of my desk. I got annoyed when my colleague suggested moving it to make the clients have a clearer view of my desk. It's only a small plant, but I need a barrier there.

No, but I put my hands in my pockets a lot.

It looks good if you have big forearm muscles like I do.

Ugh, yes. And when I'm aware of it it drives me nuts and I try to stop. Unfortunately then I probably end up seeming stranger still because then I don't know what to do with my arms at all.

^ This is me too.

Edit: And in regards to the poster above who wears longsleeves:
Yeah. I don't ever ever ever wear shorts. Ever. And it can get 47celcius witht he humidex around here... I still don't wear shorts. Ever. Short sleeved shirts I can do now. But even that, I usually have a cover-shirt (an open longsleeve) overtop or tied around my waist in case I "need" it.

Yes. I don't remember the last time someone took a picture of me with my arms not crossed or behind my back.

I feel uncomfortable doing anything without longsleeves, unless I'm in a blanket. I always wear a sweatshirt, even in the summer (like right now). I found that wearing a backpack also makes everything more comfortable.
