Have you guys ever considered that maybe yourselves will be better? Just throwing that out there.

I'd be better at some things and worse at others.

But I'd not be better overall. An NT isn't better than an aspie, nor is an aspie better than an NT. I'm not lesser because I'm disabled even without the fact that the disability includes large amounts of positive aspects.

And even if I would be on some random person's scale "better", I don't want to be "better", I want to be me. If someone is happy being a cashier at a grocery store, they shouldn't be pushed into getting a PhD because its "better" because its higher education, neither should someone who wants to do theoretical research be pushed into being a business man because working on now is "better" than working on the future.

And no, I don't think I'd be happier as an NT, the only measure of "better", I find worth using.

I don't want to cure autism ether I would just like to be able to cope better with it.

Although I am definitely anti-cure, I am a strong supporter of therapies and treatments that can allow a person on the spectrum to cope through live a little easier. I am also a supporter of people who take steps to control or eliminate symptoms that are causing interfererence in their lifes. You can still have AS and not feel like it's burdening you, all you can do is try and take control of it.

That's pretty much where I stand as well. I wish more effort was put towards things that actually help people improve their lives so that they can cope and be happy rather than focusing solely on cure research.
