If "suck it up and just do it" was gonna work, it would have worked a long time ago. We've all got loads of incentive to suck it up and just do it. I don't know where we'd get more incentive from... having someone say "suck it up and do it" doesn't seem to produce more incentive. So this discussion presupposes that "suck it up and do it" is a failed strategy. It won't work. Trying it again isn't going to produce a different result.
So.... how about a strategy that actually works, or at least is different in some way from already repeatedly failed strategies and therefore have a chance in Hell of working?
But it does work. It's the only thing that works. If you don't do it, then it won't get done; it's as simple as that. All other strategies revolve around just doing it, there is no exception. I've always been under the impression that the reason why people procrastinate is because they think if they wait long enough, eventually something will happen and the task will be completed without ever having done anything.
But, I'm guessing that by your reply, that actually isn't the issue. If it's actually something you want to do, does the procrastination still exist?
Irregardless, I have no other advice. If something needs to get done, then you just have to do it. Hurry up, do it quickly, and get it over with.
