Elvish is influenced by Welsh to a certain extent, I believe. :) Certainly it (and many of the Elven names) sound very Welsh.

Did you know, there's a special dialect known as Elvish Presley? It's found in the western parts of Tennessee, and when people speak, they swing their hips in a characteristic fashion. :)

My dad liked to switch syllables around. He got me doing it for a while but I can't think of a lot of examples. I say "bass ackwards" instead of "ass backwards" but I think lots of people say that.

When i was a kid i deffinantly played around with languages, having always loved made up languages and codes. And me and my friends would invent specific ways of talking, slang words personal to our group and also invented alphabets in which we would write notes at school. I'm not sure if it is a AS trait, but i certainly think its mixed up with my special interest in words and writing.

I've been playing with inventing languages to some extent... Not sure if it's an "aspie" trait as such though I could imagine aspies might do it more than others.

There are invented languages created by NTs, so I don't think it's purely an aspie trait. Let me give you a few examples.

For instance, there's Newspeak in 1984 by George Orwell. The Inner Party, who created Newspeak, had to be NTs and not aspies, since they were extremely cruel and conceited.

There's also Nadsat in A Clockwork Orange. It's heavily based on Russian, Cockney rhyming slang, and a few other languages. The hooligans who made up and used the language bullied virtually everyone they saw, which also means they were NTs.

Uh, Aspie1, you're using two works of fiction as examples. I'm sure you realize the languages weren't actually invented by the fictional characters. The real question is whether the authors of the book and movie were aspies.

Languages are usually built up over somewhat long periods of time by a culture or sub-culture. Even slang grows largely in a sub-culture. There are lots of traits that are common with aspies that NTs may share in some part, so I'm sure an NT could make up a language. I would just expect it to be uncommon because it would feel like a time sink that's not all that useful.

More importantly though, is it appropriate to assign largely negative traits to NTs as if those horrible traits are common with them and as if aspies can't have those negative traits? That's freaking me out a little bit. You seem to have "issues" with NTs.

I make up words like Discombobulated or basically it means Combusted or broken. Or kerfuffle which means bother. Or Boomsticks which is a euphemism for "B****cks"

Also, at point I developed a language with my brother called "Wai" where I communicate in a high voice, but that's finished now. I made up a dictionary in my head, but I don't really like that now.

And also, have recently developed this phrase were I skip words.

Eg:

"Yawn, with a capital, Y? because I'm tired."

Or

"Thanks for the cup of Tea's on the side."

Or

"No with a capital eNough's enough."
