At that, I would have walked out.
If they'd tried to collect a co-pay after, they'd have another thing coming.

I was told my autism diagnosis was wrong because I cried when my Granny died... The shrink later admitted he knew nothing about autism...

That's bull. My mom has that same attitude too and she doesn't have AS. In fact I think lot of people would have that same attitude. If everyone cared if everyone liked them or not, it would cause an impairment so all we can do is not care and move on so that way we are still happy.

You have two options.

1) Find a therapist that actually understands Asperger's and autism
2) Educate your therapist on Asperger's and autism.

I suspect the second option has a low probability of success.

I have actually succeeded in the second option. My behaviors while succeeding was one of the factors leading to my diagnosis. Every time a professional says something wrong or over-generalized about autism, just tell them that they are wrong and why they are wrong.

Judging from this statement, it seems obvious that your therapist doesn't know much about Asperger's Syndrome.

WHERE are these licensed therapists getting this crap? Honestly? Why are these wildly inaccurate stereotypes so persistent in what is supposed to be an educated, respected profession?

I think that therapist was thinking of the wrong disorder...there are some disorders where people do not particularly like or desire social interaction but with AS usually people want to interact and would like people to like them but sometimes have difficulty with those things.

This.

WTF? Aren't these two of the three criteria of the Homicidal Triad?!

To be honest, I had a tendency to torture animals. I won't go into details, I think I wasn't that cruel anyway. There are some quiz questions regarding this, must have to do with empathy.
