WOW, what a question. I doubt I didn't know by 3. I started going to a school(preschool) at 3. For some reason, EVERYONE wants to know a kids age, and I ALWAYS asked questions when I was a kid.

I'm so old that I don't remember when I knew what my age was...now I am 25 years young, officially the oldest person on Earth! I don't know my childhood at all. The youngest I remember is when I was 12 or 13 years young. That was at least 500 years ago.

I'm going with 2 or 3. I designate all my early years via colors of the rooms I remember being in the most. I also have synaesthesia. Age 3 and the number 3 are both yellow . . .

I remember being asked my age when I was 4 by a guest my parents invited over, and being able to tell him without thinking about it much. So age 4.

Basically, I became aware of myself when I hit 5. But it literally wasn't until I was 8 that I actually started thinking of myself as a person. I don't even remember my 5th birthday. I just remember someone asking me how old I was. I looked at Mom and she help up 5 fingers and told me to tell that person how old I was. Five fingers = five years old. I remember thinking, in my child's mind "So that's how old I am!"

Uh... I know that I knew that it was my second birthday on my second birthday and that I'd become three on my third birthday that I didn't at all look forward to.
But before that, I'm not sure. I never cared for what my age was, because all the other kids were older than me anyway, since my birthday is in April and school ended in June. And boy, did I hate those birthday parties.

I have no idea; I cannot really remember much before preschool.

My mother said she could get me to respond with "two" when she asked me my age at two, albeit with great difficulty compared to my sister. Nevertheless, I cannot remember such.
