Aspie Syndrome in Asia/China
I'm in Taiwan, which seems way ahead of what I'm hearing about China. My son's school has good understanding and support for him. The very few people that I've discussed my own diagnosis with are curious but understanding and already had at least a passing familiarity with the concept. Of course, these are well educated people and I'm in Taipei. For someone in a small town, it might be very different.
Interestingly, though, my wife's attitude is similar to that of the OP's father; essentially, you're weird but we accept you, so why talk about labels or conditions?
