I used to always bite my fingernails...right down to the quick. Did that until my late teens, I think. My nails look pretty good for the moment, they're all just about the same length. Very unusual for me! But if I get a snag, I can't leave it alone! I'm just now getting better at using tools though instead of my teeth to correct a snag. It's only taken me 40 years to figure that out! LOL

I used to bite my nails until they bled and continue chewing. I just loved the way the nail felt between my teeth. I would even bite my toenails when my fingernails were too short to get that sensation. I wanted to grow long nails so I could chew them off. Whenever I saw someone with long nails I always wanted to chew them off for ter person. My mom tried using this nasty nasting stuff to stop me from doing it but I would just lick it off and then chew them again. I would yell at anyone who accused me of "eating" my nails. I did not purposly sallow them so I did not eat them. I still chew my nails until there is nothing to chew, I have not made them bleed for years so maybe I killed the quick or something. I still chew my nails until there is nothing left to chew.

I have issues with cuticles, but I am more likely to bite the skin off the sides of my fingers than anything else.

I do something even worse, I bite my toe nails, not something a grown man at 46 should be doing.

Gnawed. Have largely stopped in the past year, but if one nail gets damaged I will tend to take it down to nothing instead of leaving something to bite at... have damaged two teeth from it.

As a kid I used to do this.
Yeah, reason I stopped was cos I know everyone in the world would look at them and know exactly what I did. Was some sort of compulsive thing, I would always promise myself to stop, and never did. Eventually the urge faded on its own.

I've noticed my front teeth have steadily been ground down, little chip here and there... I also grind on my teeth, and have developed a nice little gap between my right front tooth and the one next to it. Otherwise my teeth would have been in PERFECT shape. :x

When my fingernails are too short to adequately bite I switch to toes.

Nope don't bite my finger nails, never have done. They break by themselves anyway, because they are weak.
