I share a large flat, but my flatmate works shifts whereas I am theoretically 9 to 5. So sometimes we are both here in the evenings but very often I don't see him for weeks. This seems to work very well. I like being alone but I also like to know that there is someone else around sometimes.

I want to live on a narrowboat. These are boats designed for the inland waterways of Britain. They are generally 6'10" wide and anything from 30' to 70' in length. They are small, well-organised and cosy spaces in which to live, and the boating community is friendly but unconventional.

I moved out when I was 19 and am now 25. But I don't exactly feel like I live "on my own" despite that I have my own apartment. My mother lives only three miles away, she's my ride to most places, and I see her almost every day (except sometimes weedends). This works out much better for us because I'm inherently messy (not really in organization but in a lack of cleaning) and this drove my mother crazy because that meant she got to clean up after me. She prefers how it is much more now. She has her own space which I can't mess up, hehe. :)

I was 23 the last time I had any roommates and I'm 50 now, so that's 27 years of living alone. I'm advertising on a New Zealand dating site, but that's a long-shot.

I have my own personal dwelling surrounded my some grass that somehow is some sort of 25 foot wide moat that seems to keep the human creatures at a distance. Once in awhile they dare cross the moat and ring my doorbell, but not offen. 8)

I live on a planet of 6 Billion people, I'm far from alone but have managed to get a 75' by 130' foot territory of my own, but I'm forced to pay some thuggs protection money or they will throw me off my little island. They call it property tax and as long as I pay it, they keep other human creatures off my piece of the planet and let me stay.

I used to share a dwelling with the parental units and siblings, but avoided contact with them as much as possable.

I was never even remotely successful living alone or with "house-mates". I did try it on occasion but I do not have the skills to do so with any degree of success. I would often move back to my parents' house and try to get control again. Now, my precious wife provides the support and direction that I obviously require.

To which I shall add to those non-AS/ASD individuals who have such in your life: The family and daily support and encouragement is wonderful. If you haven't been told we appreciate it and need it even when we act like we don't. 8>

I have my own room but don't live on my own, currently in a residential home,it's one very big bungalow surrounded by trees and grass [and many cats and foxes],there are quite a few of us living there.
It isn't like the old out of date way people think of residentials,we all help out with keeping the building tidy during the day,we are also taught the skills we need.
We have around 4 staff in the day but because we all get on with each other we help each other out to.
At night-there's one staff who stays awake and one who sleeps in who handles meds, accidents and so on.
