I see myself as being quite nifty with my fingers, and striking lighters as such isn't a problem here, but I don't get on well with lighters. They work for a while, then after the second or third fill, the flame gets inexplicably weedy and/or won't light. Piezo crystal is better than flintwheel for sparking - I used to have a couple of warts on my finger ends and didn't want to spread the spores by scrubbing my finger ends on that abrasive wheel. But piezos suddenly let you down by seizing up. Adjustable flame size is good too, because sometimes there's a blockage and you can blow it clear by opening up to maximum flame size. But like I say, the flame always gets smaller and smaller over time. And they don't work outside. And if you keep using them they get too hot and burn your hand.
I like the idea of petrol lighters, which defnitely work better outside, but they seem quite messy.
Don't like matches. There's never anywhere to throw the spent ones away, and they shouldn't be put back in the box. And they break when you strike them.
