Diagnosed at age 22 with Asperger's.

However I had been told by a professional at age 13 that she was pretty sure I had it, I just didn't get the actual diagnosis for another 9 years.

Diagnosed at 15 with Asperger's.

When I was a child, my teachers always brushed off my eccentric behavior as "quirkiness that comes with high intelligence". When I was in my ealy teens, I had a bad case of OCD and anxiety, so the mental health professionals I went to see were more focused on getting those under control than with finding out why I was eccentric.

Then when I was 15, I went in for bloodwork and the doctor kept asking a bunch of questions that didn't seem to be related to each other. Then she said that I "probably had Asperger's Syndrome". I talked to my psychiatrist about it, and a bunch of tests later, he diagnosed me. He also referred me to an autism specialist who confirmed the diagnosis.

My mom was concerned about me because I wasn't reaching developmental milestones, so she took me to a doctor to find out what was wrong. They asked my mom why we came and what was wrong with me, and she said, "That's why we asked YOU." So we went to another doctor and then I was diagnosed with PDD-NOS. For my second evaluation when I was 7, my diagnosis was changed to high-functioning autism, and later Aspergers at age 16.

Around age 8 my babysitter told my mum that she think's I have aspergers. The babysitter then suggested she go to an aspergers/autism specialist. I must have been one heck of an easy diagnoses, now that I know what common traits of AS are I realise I displayed almost every single one on the first day lol. About 3 weeks later I was officially diagnosed.

Since then I've had to be 'Re-assessed' three times because the Australian government seems to think it can go away after time... (The last one I nearly failed because it consisted mostly of him showing me multiple variations of smiley faces and frowning faces, Which I informed him I knew because I'm online so much and that if he shows me pictures of real people he would get a proper result.)
(My original diagnosis and first re-diagnosis should have been proof enough as I went to one of the best specialists in aus. Since then they get worse and worse each time...)

I was first diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 3 because my doctor was an idiot.
When I was 12 I started seeing a new doctor that diagnosed me with PDD. For some reason my diagnosis changed to aspergers at the age of 16.
At the time I had no interest in learning about autism.

65, Asperger's

Seashell, I've had some kind of anxiety disorder and cyclical depression every year since I was 18. Those two often proceed from the Asperger's, as near as I can tell. Anyway, the meds for those work, and there's still the basic difference that's the Asperger's.
