I have dark circles under my eyes. I do have allergies, and sleep difficulties, but I've had the dak circles under my eyes my entire life, before either one of those things became an issue. My parents have told me that people used to make comments on the dark circles under my eyes when I was a baby. Sleep and allergy issues may cause them to be more pronouced at times, but they're always there to some extent, and always have been.

I have them, but I think it's due to allergies. They get darker when I have a sinus headache.

I've had them forever; they have gotten more pronounced as I have gotten older, and are also brought out more by environmental factors (such as lack of sleep, etc.)

I've noticed that.

A Chinese medicine practitioner I know told me it was kidney related. I might be misremembering that.

I've got the worst dark circles, ugh.

I often look like a racoon, I think that's because I have severe sleeping difficulties though. ^^

I have them. Mine are caused by a combination of genetics, a lack of sleep, and allergies. Being pale and my bone structure makes them more prominent. Most people have dark circles to a degree.

I have permanent dark circles too. If I don't wear make-up people always ask if I'm sick. T_T Concealer is a must for me.

Mine are terrible!
Takes gobs of concealer and powder to cover them, and get to a place where I feel like my face is even "neutral"-looking, as in not ugly.
I'm only 23.
I'm very pale.
My mother has them.

Yes. Had them all my life. They are really bad and really noticeable, but I don't bother to conceal them because I'm too tired most of the time and lack the patience and understanding to cover them up properly.

I'm NT and I have dark rings, they are very common and have many causes.

There about 50,000+ Aspies on here. People replying to this thread will tend to confirm they have them and mess up your data, so you are just chatting wont learn anything real about your question (if you wanted to that is, chats just fine :) )

Could the dark rings have to do with sleeping difficulties. In researching a couple articles I wrote on the subject, I found studies showing that insomnia tends to be a difficulty encountered on the autism spectrum. Is this true in your experiences?

I certainly think ^^^ this plays an important part. Not just difficulties with sleeping but also having a markedly different awake/sleepy cycle that is at odds with the prevalent 9-5 working week. If a person with ASDs does not get sleepy until the early hours of the morning (which i believe is common) or stays up all night gaming this will take its toll if getting up at 7 to go to work.

Most humans have dark rings. If haspies have darker ones, it's probably sleep-issue related.
