I have Asperger's, but I can at least tell you that I like reading the posts of you guys with classic autism, and in some cases can relate to them more than those by the other aspies (and in those I can't still find them to be more descriptive at times).

hi nice to meet you what do you mean more desriptive is that a good thing
im not a guy

More descriptive is a good thing, yes. It means that it lets me learn far more about myself (and/or my boyfriend) than if I was reading only posts by aspies. In the case of you, you writing about self harming during meltdowns has helped me a bit with my quest to not react as poorly when my boyfriend starts punching himself in the head during meltdowns.

By "guys" I meant 'people', sorry. I was including littlelily in there too, though I hadn't known your gender.

Is your boyfriend ok like mean safe, like not doing brain damege

He's given himself a concussion a few times, but never a bad one. We're also working on making that not be his response.

my melt downs are also punching my head and face. People try to notice when I am getting stressed to stop them from happening. I have been learning to notice also and have time alone in my room to calm down. One time I was on the ground and I hit something with my leg very hard and got a crack on my bone. I did not feel it at the time becuase I could not feel when I am like that. But after it hurt alot. I still have the dent in my leg.

I just looked up my diagnostical reports:
One says: autism spectrum disorder
One says: autism
They told me verbally HFA / AS, as I talked at 1.5 years. But they say, that I had a lot of delay in my development, as I could not connect to food from birth on and had to wear diapers until age 4.5 and others.
So - correctly I guess I am AS because of early speaking.
But to me I simply have an ASD, so I do welcome the new DSM.

And don't feel alone, nintendofan. Even if I can be verbal, I also have meltdowns where I hit myself as I was reading in your other thread, because even if I am verbal, I still often cannot communicate IRL.

nice to meet you whats , irl

Nice to meet you too.
Do you have more computer drawings? I like your picture!

I read your other post and the woman you were with didn't seem to know much about autism she seemed to be being pretty insensitive.
I also self harm when I have meltdowns like hitting my head on things mostly and scratching myself

IRL is "In real life", so how you are off the internet.

Autistic Disorder is the technical name for classic autism.

I was labeled "High functioning Autistic" but that was only 8 years ago. I don't know much about being autistic lol or the terms, plus there is no one like me where I live, or where I go, volunteer and more. I can understand feeling left out >.<

I'm not AS, for now. I could 'be' AS, if I get a diagnosis which states it. I treat my other diagnoses like that as well. I'm Borderline and Schizophrenic because my diagnosis says I am, not because I need to have any typical criteria to fit the diagnosis. I love seeing people, even though the Dr. didn't think so (for Schizophrenia). And borderliners annoy the hell out of me.
