Yes. My first recollection of my sensitivity to sound was at the age of 5. I was in school and became overly excited about all the noises in the halls and classroom. I stood up from the table and went into a whole song and dance. My teacher asked what I was so excited about and I said "don't you hear the music?"

I have always been sound and light/color sensitive. I can't stand the sound of power drills and power tools in general. They are irritating. But I often find myself making musical patterns in my head to the other sounds around me.

For me, its not always the decibel level that hurts. Its the pitch. Very bass feels like earthquakes (literally, I've been in some minor quakes. EXACTLY the same). A bit disturbing.
But its the high pitched stuff that can cause me to become unglued. I already mentioned Emergency Vehicle alarms. When I was at work in my Wal*Mart days (& in my current job too) babies or toddlers screaming REALLY hurt & disturb me. Itend to try & put a lot of distance between me and that noise.
I actually like music, especially classic/Hard Rock but I hate when people crank it up to 747 JetPlane decibel levels.
Music & lights can cause me to "zone out" also. A problem, but it doesn't hurt. Just makes it akward in a bar.
Dripping faucets at night? Not loud, but drive me crazy. And I have to go pee as well.

Sincerely,
Matt

I feel loud noises more than I hear them, crowds feel like my ears are filled up, deep bass feels solid like if I'm near a speaker I could actual step on the sound waves, loud voices feel like I'm being shaken, and noises like thumps and bangs feel like I'm being hit, if the noise is really loud and sudden I'll jerk my head away like I was punched in the ear.
High pitched noises are the only ones that really hurt, but I like sirens even though they shake me up because I like how they start really quite, then get loud, then fade away.

I love it when I am in the kitchen making something, because me making something always involves a lot of accidental clattering of plates and pots against counter and table and floor, and both of my parents freak out at the sudden loud noises, and the air is filled with the dulcet tones of strings of expletives.

Yes!! ! I can't stand the sound of sirens. They drive me crazy. I also hate doors slamming, my brother pounding his bookbag on the floor, people who talk loud and laugh loud and many other loud sounds.
