Pretty much 99.9% of what comes out of people's mouth IRL is boring. This explains why I can't socialize. If I'm sitting in a group and I'm not interested in the current topic my mind goes somewhere else. I can only force myself to not look bored for a limited amount of time. That's usually what I have to do. If things drag on too long I have to find an excuse to leave. Of course my own family can be the worst, but at least they're used to me occasionally tuning them out. It sucks as I consider myself a nice/caring person and I always feel like a bastard when someone's telling some story about their family or something and I would rather think about math problems.

I can relate to that so much!

Any relationship drama at all, sports talk, small talk, talking about kids, "shallow talk" about books/media (instead of discussing symbols in Harry Potter people just go "OMG I SHIP THEM"), talking about other people, weight, proms/dances.... a lot of things. I'd love to analyze literature or numbers with somebody. General rule - if it's not intellectually stimulating or something I'm interested in, I don't like it.

My mum talking to me about what shoes I'd wear, for approximately 15 minutes now.

Anything about socializing in general; sex, relationships, gossip, work. It's tedious and pointless.

How can i benefit from knowing how many sexual partners my friend has had or who has been sleeping with who? (Rhetorical).

Sports
gossip
blither blather that a lot of people go on and on about and I can't figure out what they are really talking about. I think that is because some NTs talk for talk sake and the content is not so important.
That is very boring to me.

In real life I get bored when people talk about fashion, sports, facebook, iphones, friends, the weather and celebrity gossip.

Politics, fashion and stuff that has a lot of math like banking, statistics etc. I have no patience for pointless rambling, but sometimes I do a lot of it I've been told.

Its boring when women talk about what he/she said. I sense tension in gossipy type conversations and it makes me uneasy.

Modern Brits with their Top Gear car=status obsession, they would have driven you slowly mad if you had worked for them! Unless it was a job in car sales...

I find it extremely boring when people talk about sports or their gym exercises or about people who I don't know (their friends, relatives or acquaintences for example) or about books or TV shows. Those are the most boring ones of common subjects people talk about.

I also get bored when people keep working a sum out in their head, whispering the numbers as they count. I'm hopeless with numbers, so I have no idea what they are doing, I just sit and wait 'til they have found an answer to their math problem - which I find boring. It's especially boring when they're trying to work out a bill or something. I feel like saying, ''oh just get a calculator!''

Here's my list of boring conversations.

1. The weather
2. High school sports
3. Clothes/fashion/hairstyles
4. Gossip (who's dating who, getting divorced, whose kid did what, etc.)
5. Celebrity gossip (see above only about famous people)
6. Health issues (not that I don't care about your problems, I just don't need a play-by-play of your latest diet or doctor visit)
7. Children/parenting topics (I don't have or want kids)
8. Antiques/yard sales and all those shows about how much crap in your attic is worth
9. Cars and car accessories

These are just the ones that make my eyes roll back when people start on them. My dad is in his late 50s and has reached the age where his default topic is the weather. He talks about it constantly and even watches it on TV. It's like that chalkboard sound to me.

Conversational topics I find boring:

  • "American Idol"
  • Boasting and bragging
  • Celebrities
  • Chick Flicks
  • Gossip or "chismis"
  • Hate-mongering of any kind
  • NT-bashing
  • Racism and Sexism
  • Reality TV
  • Self-pity
  • Sports
  • What's wrong with me (I've heard it all before)
That's pretty much it.
