I used to ejoy it. Met a lot of IRL friends there too. People in town that I wouldn't have met if I hadn't been on facebook. However, I recently deleted mine for a while. Too much drama from one IRL person who was using fb to start rumors and gather information about others etc.

As for it being for losers who don't have real life friends, oh that's not so. My best friend is extremely popular. She's always got people over or going somewhere, etc. In very high demand. She's addicted to facebook. She is always either on fb when we are at her house, on her laptop, even during a party or having guests over, or she's looking at it on her phone no matter where she is. When I've chilled with her, I'm on one couch with her laptop on my facebook and she's on the other couch on her phone on her facebook. We talk out loud about stuff on facebook and post stuff on each others walls.

I go on Facebook, and I enjoy it because it's nice to just be able to check each day for new social updates, see what people are doing, see what people have put, and so on. I mean, you don't have to go mad with it. I just write a little rant on the ''what's on your mind?'' thing, so something that has made me pleased. Also it's a good way to get in touch with my friends who I don't see very often, or relatives who live abroad whom I can share photos with.

I use it all the time, not really for socializing, more for checking out what people are posting and posting whatever is on my mind at the moment. When I finally start using twitter I will probably copy some of the tweets to the facebook :) it's purely to get stuff out of your system, sort of like a psychological cleansing exercise...something like that :)

I have a Facebook account, a fair few friends from various stages of my life online. I don't interact with very many people though and don't post status updates except when drunk, I usually just upload photos of what I am up to.

No, I'm just as socially isolated on Facebook as I am in real life. To me Facebook is just another place for me to feel ignored and invisible.

Facebook would be okay if people stuck with interesting conversation- unfortunately, they don't. What turns me off about it is the chit-chat- I really don't care what someone had for lunch or people that feel that they have to announce what day of the week that it is or all of the political and activist posts (if I want to see that, I just watch the news). Also, people that follow you around FB- I guess that is what FB is about but I don't like it. I know that there are multiple ways to set up privacy but I find it only works about 1/2 of the time and they keep changing it- I don't have the time, energy or desire to keep up with the changes.

people post each and every picture of their activity. I have noticed my hubby's cousin
post pics they have painted their house, they post pictures on FB
they buy new furniture.......ditto
then son's birthday......again photos on FB
small trip to beach the pics are on FB

I mean where is the privacy every other criminal leaving in your locality comes
to know the activities you are doing
they know the property you have, the furnitures in the house
the excessive spending that you do........world comes to know
and some people just go dressed out to add photo to FB

Only recently joined. But catching up with my old friends all over the planet has value for me. Though beyond that, its probably pointless. Also trying to re-dress some ofthe damages I've done (or have been done to me).
I'll never understand the Twitter people, however. What a waste of PC usage!! !

Sincerely,
Matt

I have a facebook account which I set up as a website for my music. I have recently sent messages to 3 people in order to get information about things that interest me---none of those 3 people has had the courtesy to answer my friendly and respectful questions. At least here on WrongPlanet I don't get ignored. I don't have much use for facebook.

I have a facebook account I keep up with about 10 people, use to have a lot more until I deleted and blocked a ton of people I didn't want to have in my life anymore (online acquaintances I had grown out of). Tried deleting it but apparently I have to have an FB account to use spotify so I brought my account back up.

I love the people who have over 3,000 friends, really, you're very cool and popular.

Yes I love to be on Facebook its its one of the last places to see some friends. I am a social person over the internet and I enjoy going on there to keep up with what other people are doing as well as share what im doing. I dont why people hate it so much or are afraid to get friends on there.

I try to stay as far away from the antichrist, I mean, facebook as best as I can. It's a social nightmare to me. I am proud, though, of its role in helping the Arab world discover - gasp! - democracy and freedom of choice. By some stroke of luck facebook may help No. Korea see the error of their totalitarian ways and set their people free. One can only hope.

I deleted my fb account. Cannot see any reason behind all this hype.

I quite like Facebook. I don't have lots of friends, but it's a good way of keeping touch and maintaining friendships that don't involve actual face to face interactions. I also use it to keep in touch with family members that live too far away to visit and I have some online friends too.
