Poor face recognition?
I do well on those tests most of the time. I don't think I've scored below average on one, but I still have many of the issues described here. I can't recognize people out of context, and any clues I get as to who they are come from specific features or their general bearing. I worked at a restaurant for about a year and we had some regulars, 2 or 3 families and it took me months to be able to recognize them. I could tell you their "usual" before I could point them out in public. Right before I moved from the area, I served a man and a younger lady and the whole time I was thinking, "I know him. Like, I really know that guy. Is he related to me?" Turns out he lives in the town 20 minutes from where I grew up and was my eye doctor for at least ten years. I had to ask the man how I knew him....that was so embarrassing. But the only clue that I knew him was his eyes, they looked really familiar. You know, because I'd been looking at them during exams for upwards of ten years.
