Once by my mother (she refuses to accept my AS), I had broken the leg of two chairs from placing them down too hard during the melt down - It was awful I was already in a melt down and here those scary men come to take you, that day in the middle of the meltdown I went to my room to shut down, I was just in my chair rocking back and fro when I see this two men telling me I can go willingly or forcibly - I was so scared I kept on repeating I had to go to school the next day and begging my mother to tell them to let me go. I was so very nervous, in the cop's car that when one of them asked me why I looked so faggy I just started rambling on and on about the roll androgens take masculinising the body and how I had other signs of poor quantities of androgens like the fact that I had very little body hair and how I hadn't grow any beard (I was almost seventeen) and I just kept on rambling about that while in shut down, when we got to the station the officers hit me with their cop sticks for being "insolent with my talking" - to this day that was the worst experience I've had, it was so very awful... ever since then my melt downs have turned more and more into shut downs - ever since then I have been afraid of having a melt down, as it it were not bad enough. It certainly did things so much worse

I always have shut downs vs meltdowns. I grew up with a very volatile parent, so I internalize everything instead of lashing out. I was carted by the cops to the hospital once, but they didn't cuff me as long as I didn't try to make a break for it.

That is absolutely horrible. Those cops should have had their badges taken from them. Dang, I hope that, aside from the meltdowns turning into shutdowns, things have turned more positive for you. And if not, that they will turn positive.

Compared to that, the neighbours calling the police after I was screaming and turning up Guns N' Roses loud, was a picnic for me.

Thanks.
I have, ever since then, been internalising almost everything frightened that if I just so much as raise my voice or stump my foot, I'll get locked up in jail, a psychiatric hospital or something

Exactly the same here. I am still told that by my dad, but I don't think anyone outside can hear it. Who knows. :?

No cops, but 911 has been called several times before. One time I had to be put in a straitjacket and put on an ambulance.

Someone can walk by and hear the chaos going on indoors. If its loud enough, it can be heard outside from the sidewalk or next door if someone happened to be outside or have their window open. I have heard screaming next door and despite having their windows closed, I still heard it and my window was open but since their windows were closed, I couldn't understand a word they were saying.
