Why does mental condition sound so much worse than psychiatric disorder?

Edited to add: I love the letter above me. :) So using it at my job! Although, kitchen workers are known to be odd! 8O

You know, I can write that letter and make it sound good. But in my profession if you handed that to someone you'd probably be lucky if they where able to read the first sentence. They'd point you off the job.

But I'm glad you might get use out of it.

A few jobs ago I had a moment where they relied on me due to my vocabulary/reading being better than the other 100 people that where there. This is the biggest fail of all I think when it comes to me as an aspie, and my employers/coworkers. High vocabulary misconstrued as high social skills, and then an ultimate nose dive when they put you on the spot. To me I was fine with what they put on me, but they misunderstood my actions, yelled at me multiple times and threw me into a meltdown.

I'm curious what profession you are in. And I completely agree with your last paragraph here, I've been told I'm quite articulate, have good people skills.... blah blah... then when you get to know me past the preprogrammed social graces..... yea, you know what I mean. :)

Also I deleted what I wrote there because I realized you were being sardonic lol just realized it too late

I started it off that way, but I wrote that as a real letter after the first few sentences so there was no hidden meaning, well... besides the claw.

I've been staying employed as a carpenter, which usually keeps you away from social issues (usually). Unfortunately due to my computer skills/vocabulary I was even yanked into a office position for a week (with my same pay). That pretty much ruined me.. imagine 100 people you know and work as a grunt with seeing you in a polo and standing in a office with a pen in your hand and whiteout in your shirt pocket, when they're all sweaty, hot, and tired. Then of course we had a class where the instructors computer kept breaking, they'd bring a tech in and he'd walk back out - then I'd fix it. I think I made a lot of enemy's, I can't find a job anywhere now.

Yes, it is a medical condition! Spectrum conditions are caused by one or more neurological disorders, that makes it a medical condition. It manifests in different ways:

- Physical, like in stimming, physical sensitivities, such as loud noise, bright light, strong smells and tastes, skin sensitivities, motor skills problems.
- Psychological, such as depression, meltdowns, etc.
- Social problems, too many to list.
- Often comorbid with other disorders.
- Sometimes genetic--runs in families, sometimes caused by birth or pre birth trauma, sometimes caused by environmental factors, such as exposure to toxins before birth or in early childhood.

All of these things are medical related, so comply with your boss's request for info as best as you can.
