Give me my tactile senstitivity any day over that; at least most of the time it doesn't make me want to rip my own brain out.
Understandable discomfort aside, that would be a little bit difficult, considering that the motor centers needed to rip your own brain out... are located in your brain.

Even I can do colloquial better than that, and I'm an Aspie!

So we have some adults afflicted with ignorance we need to deal with?

I'm pretty sure the person was writing about "lower-functioning" autistics. Most advocates for autism tend to get attention towards the lower end of the spectrum, as they need the most "help", for lack of better word. Are you going to give bread to someone who has been starved or to someone who didn't eat breakfast or dinner, but otherwise would survive? (I apologize for the simplicity of this metaphor, but I'm trying to catch the gist of what these "advocates" might be thinking.)

Ideally, you'd have enough bread for the starving guy and the guy who missed breakfast. Because the guy who missed breakfast might very well pass out from low blood sugar, and if he happens to be behind the wheel of a car at the time, that could lead to deadly consequences.

Just 'cause some people need more help than others, doesn't mean they should be the only ones who get help. It's kind of like trying to reach a guy down a well with a rope... if you've got a 10-foot rope, it doesn't matter if the well is two hundred feet deep or just twenty feet deep; you won't be able to reach the guy in the well either way. The only solution is more rope, and no matter how deep the well is you're still stuck in it unless you get it.
