I've had terrible luck with therapists in the past, and I did not trust them for various reasons, mostly the worst being the therapist concocting who I am based on how NT people act and what it means when they act this way.

My best luck, an my current therapist, is a grad student of psychology, and is not yet bound by decades of 'this is how it is'. He is the most open-minded therapist I've met, and thought this type of open-minded person did not exist. It still took more than two months to get through to him conversationally, and now we're in a place where we are working on stuff, instead of arguing about who I am.

I'd suggest anyone that's given up on therapists, try someone that hasn't been a therapist for soooo long. I think it may be the preconceptions that are getting in the way of our more difficult therapists.
