Cycling, swimming for me. I like riding the bicycle though it's not the most well-balanced exercise, so I do some swimming, too. They definitely help me to keep my anxiety at bay and my thoughts clearer. One of the most satisfying exercise for me is mountain-biking in the Bükk mountains, Hungary.

If a sport or activity catches my interest I'll do it very well and to the exclusion of other things. If something else catches my attention I might forget about one of my sports for months or even years at a time. Sometimes I need to leave equipment lying around to remind me to do my sport/activity:-$

Right now I'm into squash and walking. My bike is sitting by the front door and calling to me. Badminton racket unused since end of last year:-$

i can't run anymore due to mr. arthur itis nagging at me. but i ride my bike up and down the hills of my hilly neighborhood, and when it rains too hard for biking, then i walk up and down the hills. in addition, i do several types of crunches and pushups and chinups daily. they help me to wake up in the morning. i am barely fit, at 190-195# [it varies day to day] and 6'3". but i have small bones so i am technically overweight.

What? What's that got to do with Autism? I see loads and loads of people everywhere who are not in shape, who are overweight or too skinny, or are out of proportion.

I'm actually not out of proportion, although people look at me like I have two heads, but logically I am an average-sized young female, slim and average-height.

Competitive swimmer at school, before moving over to running in my teens. Started lifting around the same time. Now mostly cycle on my road bike and do enough resistance training to keep my upper body toned. I'm a classic mesomorph, which made things easier for me.

We are on the spectrum. I am curious as to what activities spectrum individuals engage in for fitness. I know what NTs do... and I have a personal theory that is rapidly being disproven by the wide array of activities...

I'm underweight and I don't do anything.

People have connected digestive issues with autism for awhile. I wonder, is there any connection between autism and unusually high metabolism for ones workload?

solo stuff (running or swimming), unfortunately I tend to view exercise as a special interest. So it comes and goes. At the moment it's gone.

When I am running I build up to 10k jogs most days. When I swim I might do 2.5k a day. When it starts getting too easy the interest evaporates.

My weight fluctuates between 10-11st (correct weight) and 15st. I also diet once a year as a special interest too.

If that is the case, then I am an exception to that rule

I like to ride my bike and rollerblade. I like ice skating best of all, but that is limited by when the rink is open and when I can go there. I also took some yoga classes and enjoyed yoga. And I grew up shooting hoops a lot and playing a little tennis that I was not good at. I find working out on eggsercise machines in a gym to be too boring to maintain, even when there is a TV to watch for each machine.

I work out at least five days a week, mainly core and fitness stuff because my daily work takes care of my upper body. Recently I increased my cardio to a few one hundred metre sprints between walking back to my starting point for recovery, everything is done "at home" either in the back paddock (for running) or on the treadmill (only power walking coz I come a cropper if I try to run on a treadmill) and ab exerciser (because my back doesn't allow me to do crunches) I quit treating my body like a nightclub ages ago because I'm not getting any younger so I'm the healthiest I've ever been. I'm 168cm and 63kg and my BMI is 21% (Though I'd like it under 20%).
I can agree that it clears the cobwebs in your head and found it helped me get over a dark period in my life.

Haha I know that feeling! I'm at 98 kg's at 18% Bodyfat. I do karate 4-5 times a week and will soon be starting some weights. Goal is to get to 15% Bodyfat and still be over 90kg's!

I am pretty fit. 6'1", 180 pounds. I do cardio 5x a week, resistance 3 times a week. Always changing up what I do, but some examples include running a staircase at my university. 3 floors, and at the top I do 10 pushups, at the bottom I hold a wall sit for 60 seconds. Gets both cardio and resistance endurance. I stay on the stairs for about an hour. I worked out regularly when I was in high school, started back up about two or three years ago.

I have been overweight most of my life. I have recently started exercising to lose weight. I am playing Dance Dance Revolution for an hour a day and I do exercises on a yoga ball once in a while. I really hate to exercise so it has to be fun for me. Oh btw, bouncing on a yoga ball is a good stim. :)
