If one of my hands is wet, and I go to dry it on a towel, I have to wet my other hand as well. Feeling a towel with a dry hand creeps me out, especially when one hand is wet.

Yes my skin is really sensitive, a few things make me physically shiver, one of those is foam, like you'd get in a sofa or something. Buying clothes is a problem I can only wear really soft fabrics and basically old worn in stuff. I can't bear velvet, wool, starch cloth, anything acrylic, it has to be cotton and soft. I saw a wonderful scarf the other day I thought wow so soft, so warm great something I can bear and wear! Slight problem it was darn cashmere!!£89 for a scarf. Nevermind. I loathe shopping especially the search lights they have in the places and they are always too busy and crowded, I have considered venturing once a year to a more expensive shop they have much softer fabrics and well-made products and they have dimmer lighting and usually quiet, perfect. Slight problem is the cost. In the meantime I will stick to charity shops.

Touch is one of my few senses that is hardly sensitive at all I work in construction with my hand an am always cutting or injuring them like chemical burns without knowing until it is too late to do anything about it. Although I can not wear any jewelry of metal on my skin of it will leave a rash For me its noise and movement that drive me crazy sending me into total overload

My major issue is with clothing. Seams, tags, etc. bug me to no end. I have to cut all tags out and fray any leftover tag material so it's soft. Seam stitching rubbing on my shoulders drives me mad. I like Raglan sleeves for this purpose. I also can't stand when fabric gets bunched up around me in any way, sleeves that feel tight agaisnt my skin, and bra hooks and straps. I wish I could go without, but I'd be sagging to my waist in no time if I did that.

I'm seriously allergic to metals too, and can only wear titanium and 18K or more yellow gold(white gold often has nickel in it) and probably platinum, but I'm not that rich. I have keratosis pilaris on my upper arms that makes me itch like crazy too. If I have any little, teeny scab or anything like that, it will drive me nuts because it itches like crazy. I also just found out I'm allergic to lavender. I trimmed my lavender plants a few weeks ago and got red, burning, itchy hands from doing it.

Skin is sensitive to some facial lotions and potions, especially ones with perfumes, parabens and acids, makes it itchy and tight. I don't have any eczema or psoriasis its again possibly the sensory integration thing.

I agree with most of what people have said here.. it bothers me as well. At least I was blessed with having no allergies but on the downside my tactile sensitivity is so bad I cant even stand touching water.

For those of us with problems wearing most metals....is it due to increase skin acidity?I cant afford
gold,so havent tried that but if I try and wear silverplate,my skin acid? seems to eat through the silver plating and I end up with a rash.I get rashes on my forearms for "no known reason"...maybe stress induced?I use to cut out clothing tags and even the sleeves and collar of T-shirts...but I seem to have gotten used to them after 43 years.I can tolerate most(but I love the new Hanes shirts without tags...why didnt they think of that 40 years ago?)One reason I have chosen to work overnight is they dont care what I wear. Many nights I go in flannel lounge pants, fleece shirts or PJ bottoms.

I have weird skin. I can't stand silky nylon but the net stuff's OK but not really filmy nylon. I can't wear any metals except high-quality (18karat) gold or high quality silver or titanium. (I even get sweatrash from stainless steel! The weirdest thing is if someone I know well touches me-I almost collapse from the pleasureable tingle it sends all over my body. Honestly, I have almost collapsed in public places. I compare it to what som cats do if stroked all down their back-they either arch in pleasure or go all limp and roll on their sides and start purring (I do not, however, purr!).

However, very light touch on my skin-by ANYone-eww! And as for unexpected touch I either jump a mile or react so fast I slap or hit the person. and the craziest thing...the most sensitive ponts on my skin are my ears!
