As a stim do you mess with your jewelry?

I tap my lip piercing against my teeth (luckily I wear a plastic backed stud so it doesn't wreck them). Also, the studs I wear in my ears have plastic stems and one of them feels kinda scuffed, so I always find myself scratching it, trying to make it smooth, even though I know it won't!

I don't wear a lot of jewelry. I always have my earrings on, but I'm really ticklish there, so I don't stim with my earrings.

I do, however, wear my lucky necklace all the time, and I tend to twirl it around my finger. I try not to do it too much or the string will snap (the necklace was made by hand by a friend). Whenever I wear another one of my necklaces, I tend to rock back and forth a lot when I'm sitting on the floor to watch the charms swing back and forth (there's a lot of charms on that necklace). With pearl necklaces, I tend to bite on them, and I vaguely remember always putting the jade Buddha necklaces into my mouth as a little kid.

I rarely wear jewellery, because I play with it too much - adjusting, removing, fiddling, etc etc. I don't think of it as stimming behaviour though, more as a reaction to the annoyance of the materials on my skin.

I have four lobe piercings and a cartilege piercing on each ear and I mess with them constantly. I honestly don't know how I don't have some kind of horrible infection. I also adjust my ring, my watch, and my necklace quite a bit, and I've picked several cloth bracelets (and a watch band) into oblivion. I never considered this as a stim before. Guess you learn something new and worthwhile every day.

Me too! It's really soft in a way isn't it.

I wear a couple of rings usually and I'm always fidgeting with them, I also wear a pendant that I rub between my fingers when I'm feeling very anxious.

I always fidget with the pendant when I'm wearing a necklace. People think I'm trying to draw attention to it or trying to show it off, but I'm not.

if i wear jewelry (well, a watch, if at all), then yes, i do.
i dont really like the feel of a watch though; and if i wear one, i feel as if i need to have another watch on my other wrist as well, to remain 'balanced'; so i only wear one if i have to (to complete a black tie outfit)

When I'm bored or nervous sometimes I'll play around with my belly button ring. I've also been known to play with my earrings once in awhile or I'll touch my ring.

Yes, always. I don't wear jewelry that much. I usually only wear it when I go out. Usually it is a necklace. I always have studs in my ears to keep the piercing open but I don't mess with them much anymore. I fiddled with them a lot when I first got them pierced because I had to turn them and I just kept on doing it.

I don't feel self-conscious about it. It is a more socially acceptable stim. NTs do it too. Maybe not as much. But they do.

Most definitely. My ear cartilage is stuck full of rings and studs and I'm always messing with them. I also wear a watch and an amber and silver knotwork ring and pendant every day, and I play with them a lot. I agree that it is more socially acceptable than some of my other stims, like rocking or rubbing my hands together.

Jewelry doesn't interest me one bit and I never wear it.
