I remember telling my ex-boyfriend that I wasn't really attracted to most celebrities and he said it was because I wasn't at the level of self confidence as most people are. I tend to go for more alternative, different guys. I don't know maybe he's right, maybe if I was prettier and more self confident I would think otherwise, who knows. I just know that I hate cocky, arrogant men.

Can someone explain this to me?

You don't always control it, someone like that would strike one's interests, and they wouldn't know why.

I don't like the uber-stylised, uber-airbrushed ones, but there's such a selection of people who are famous for something, it's easy to find a few of them attractive even for someone with a particular taste that might not always feel represented.

Yes, I find certain celebrities attractive. But I often find a certain falseness with many of them so I note them as not my type.

I mostly find the celebrities attractive that I know of, know their personality and just get used to seeing. Ewan McGregor is such one and David Tennant is a bit of all right. Most of the celebrities aren't that attractive physically, they're not really my type, but because I like their portrayal of certain characters enough to want to see them in other roles, get excited when I see them in a magazine, that I trick myself in thinking they are attractive.

It's always been that way with me and people I fancy. Sometimes when I see them as attractive first I usually find out they are arrogant a-holes.

I can't bring myself to see Matt Smith as attractive though. Maybe because I want David back! Arthur Darvill on the other hand...but that was through loving his character of Rory. He's a funny man in real people life too.

I find no one "attractive," including celebrities.

Agreed with your opinions of those persons. :D

There are a few that I find physically attractive, but the stupidity and such that seems common among celebrities, as well as the general fakeness, normally negates the majority of this.

I agree with this. Matt Smith is just odd looking.

Mick Avory was hot in the 60s and he still is. He's also my (body) type. He was for most of his career.

I didn't respond to the poll, because I don't really think there's a yes or no answer to the question.

I find, more than anything, that I find far fewer people attractive than others tend to...speaking purely in numbers. I work at a gym, and my co-workers are constantly pointing out this attractive guy and that attractive guy, and I've honestly never been attracted to any person who has walked through those doors. For one, even if someone is incredibly attractive physically, I often won't 'get' it, unless there is something about their personality I like that shines through. It amazes me when I see 'hott celebrity' lists, and there are more than 100 men/women on there...there might be 5 guys that I find attractive at any one time, because there are so many factors that go into attraction for me.

Growing up, I was usually attracted to much, much older men. For many years as an adolescent, I was totally smitten with Mel Gibson, who is old enough to be my grandfather. The first 'love' of my life was Christopher Plummer in The Sound of Music, and i was 4!

My two big crushes at the moment are Michael Fassbender and Jim Parsons...a muscled, scruffy manly man and a scrawny gay man...no rhyme or reason to my attraction! haha

I find some celebrities attractive, but I don't get in love with them, maybe I like their movies or music, but I wouldn't pay for having a dinner with them or something like that... they are strangers.

Well...

I suppose some of them are attractive, but I prefer to save my unrequited romantic love for fictional characters.

For example: I have a long-standing crush on a teenage Sirius Black (Have you ever thought about what he might look like? 8O OMG!! !) but cannot find it in me to express anything other than annoyance towards the cult of 'Beliebers', and frustration with the singular direction obsession.

I've only really been attracted to people that I've met in real life. There are some celebrities that I consider good-looking, but I don't consider myself attracted to them. Attraction, to me, is more of a vibe/personality thing.

It's not an aspie thing, I either find people attractive or I don't regardless of their 'celebrity status'. I will add that the buffed, tanned, big white teethed celebrity 'look' isn't usually my cup of tea

that doesn't sound like a very nice thing for him to have said. perhaps you have unusual tastes, or you care more about a person's interests and personality than their appearance. nothing wrong with that.
