Yeah, that's a interesting one. Factually, a person is aware of the array of outcomes of a given situation. One health/death matters, I think many people intentionally ignore (or avoid considering) those very outcomes, so when the actual event transpires...mental breakdown. Now it's natural to feel sad when someone dies, especially someone close to you. But I think there's an element of human nature that drives people to avoid considering these potentialities...perhaps it's too distracting to think of something sad now vs being "shocked" later when it takes place.
