Everybody I know has got an allergy to something, surprisingly enough. I don't have asthma and I'm not allergic to much at all, but I know I am allergic to dust because it irritates my sinuses and makes me sneeze. Also I'm allergic to some powders and some sanitary towels, depending on the kind. But I don't associate that with AS, it's just something I get allergic to sometimes, and others have said they do too.

Im neurotypical and Im asthmatic and allergic to nuts. So is my dad. I think Im allergic to pollen too.

Also getting colds have nothing to do with whether you are autistic or not, everybody gets cold and flu's and other similar viruses, some people pick them up more frequently than others. I know a girl who seems to have a cold every two weeks or so.

I had asthma as a child, which I've grown out of as I've gotten older and in better shape. I do still have allergies though.

Asthma, Pollen and it appears...Shellfish; Crab, Lobster etc. Although, I'm not to sure about Shelfish as I have only eaten them twice in my life and on both occasions I instantly vomited and felt nauseated after eating it. Also, my mum's also allergic to Shellfish so it is quite likely that I am too.

I am allergic to many things. Sometimes in the spring or early summer I have a cough that lasts for 2-3 months.

I supposedly had an aspirin allergy, but if I did it is no longer present.

asthma: was diagnosed when I was three, it's kind of gotten worse over the years, but I do alright with the medication I'm on.

Only back when I ate wheat. I used to have horrible allergies to pollen, seasonal stuff and lawn grass. I couldn't mow my lawn without my face swelling shut. Gave up wheat and it's 100% cured. I can mow my lawn, go on long walks in the heat of summer, etc.

hay fever.

I did have one of those intolerance tests done from my hair once, it came out that I have intolerances to a whole list of things but I don't know if it was true or not.

I have big issues with peppers and tomatoes, I get a really sore tongue with swollen patches where the coating is missing.

I have asthma and allergies to various stuff. Most are pretty mild but sometimes they can set off an asthma attack which is no fun. On two separate occasions I have had anaphylactic reactions resulting in rushing to hospital but the cause was never determined and it hasn't happened for 10+ years. Anaphylaxis is probably the scariest thing which ever happened to me - my eyes were swollen so I couldn't see, the inside of my ears were swollen so I couldn't hear, my tongue and lips were swelling up and making it impossible to speak and difficult to breathe. Horrible, horrible experience.

That's interesting. I never realized there was such a correlation. I always thought that was just a media stereotype.

I have mild asthma and many allergies. Tested allergic to dust mites, mold spores, grass/tree/flower/weed pollen (certain types are severe, especially lilacs - I have to stay inside pretty much all the time during the few weeks they blossom), feathers, wool, cockroaches, eggs, and shellfish. None of these allergies is really severe except for the lilacs and a few other pollens. I've also had allergic reactions to many medications including most antibiotics (when I was 3 I was rushed to the emergency room after taking Bactrim, broke out in hives and joints turned purple). I also get terrible sores in my mouth from pineapple, tomatoes, and various other acidic foods. Not sure if that's an allergy or just general sensitivity.

My allergies manifest in many different ways, depending on the allergen. Most antibiotics cause wheezing, sneezing, itchy eyes, cough, chest pain, raw throat. Pollen/dust/mold generally cause all of these as well as swollen sinuses, runny nose, blurry vision, and terrible eczema. Sometimes the eczema is on my face and I have to use Selsun Blue dandruff shampoo to try to treat it (which isn't highly effective and takes days), since the steroid creams for it can cause blindness. As a bonus, the side effects I get from allergy medications are similar to the allergies themselves, so there's not really any relief to be had there.

Allergies SUCK and I seem to get more every year. The environmental ones started at age 15 when the lilacs came into bloom that year. Luckily I'm still okay with cats, dogs, nuts, and bees, since most of those would all cause horrible problems for me. It's interesting I'm not allergic to these things, since they seem to be such common allergies.

Interestingly enough, I suffer from no seasonal allergies whatsoever, nor do I have asthma. I breathe fabulously year-round, unless I get a cold or something. And I am an (actually diagnosed) aspie.

My far more neurotypical and well-adjusted younger sister, on the other hand, has severe allergies and has been miserable this season.
